I Finished This Year’s 30 Day Yoga Challenge in 49 Days — Here’s What I Learned

In my 7 Goals For 2022 story at the beginning of January, I set a goal of completing this year’s 30-day yoga challenge by Adriene by the end of February.

I learned from the challenges of previous years that it would be difficult, if not impossible, to finish the challenge in a single month. So rather than setting myself up to fail once I missed a single day, I set a more realistic goal which allowed for some breaks. With the increased freedom, I was able to finish the challenge in 49 days (which only 14% of the people finished according to the video views). Here are some of the things I learned along the way and my thoughts on yoga in general.

Consistency

The most difficult aspect of a 30-day yoga challenge, or anything else really, is consistency. It’s very easy to motivate yourself to do something once, maybe even a few days in a row, but the real challenge begins after the first week when it isn’t as fun anymore and you have to force yourself to do it.

I started the challenge very strong and did the exercises daily for 12 days. But then I had a stressful day at work and I didn’t have time to do yoga in the afternoon. If I had the goal of doing…
