Yea, I think so. I can't remember which version exactly, but I used Blender for the first time in around 2008 and looking at the release dates, it must have been a 2.4x version. I really didn't like it, so I used C4D instead.

I didn't do a lot of 3D work after that and when I came back to Blender, it was in the 2.7x versions and they were at least usable, but only since 2.8 have I been really happy with it.
